PowerPax is a Melbourne-based manufacturer of energy efficient chillers for commercial applications utilizing the revolutionary oil-free magnetic bearing compressor technology. At the cutting edge of innovation and rapidly growing, the company has created an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

The position involves the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Design of pressure vessels and heat-exchangers, including both thermal and mechanical
  • Verification, preparation and submission of technical information for Manufacturing and Sales
  • Liaison with overseas partners and suppliers, document exchange, management and reporting
  • Project management in multidiscipline areas of mechanical engineering
  • Verification of final calculations, approval of drawings and registration of heat exchangers
  • Development and enforcement of data management processes, within QA to ASME and ISO
  • Materials traceability and quality control system

To be considered for the position the candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related fields
  • Experience in either refrigeration or process cooling, pressure vessels
  • Understanding of Project Management
  • Computer literacy covering project management, AutoCAD and MS suite
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline and multi-cultural environment

The candidates must be self-motivated, display good initiative, be prepared for future challenges and demonstrate a strong desire to learn and grow as part of our talented team. Good communication skills are essential. Previous experience in ASME, AS1210, 3D parametric drafting, pressure vessels or electrical and controls will be highly regarded.
