PowerPax is a Melbourne based manufacturer of energy efficient chillers for commercial applications utilizing the revolutionary oil-tree magnetic-bearing compressor technology. At the cutting edge of innovation and rapidly growing, the company has created an opening for a Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

The position involves the following duties and responsibilities:

  • Drafting within Autodesk AutoCAD and Inventor environments (both 2D and 3D)
  • Development of Bill of Materials and links within Visual Basic and Excel
  • Verification, preparation and submission of technical information for Manufacturing and Sales
  • Data exchange with overseas partners via vault document management system
  • Design of pressure vessels and/or electrical assemblies
  • Materials traceability and quality control system

To be considered for the position the candidate must satisfy the following criteria:

  • Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD and/or Inventor
  • Knowledge of mechanical engineering applied in either Bills of Materials, pressure vessel, or manufacturing
  • Ability to work in a multi-discipline and multi-cultural environment
  • Refrigeration and/or fluid dynamics exposure is desirable

The candidates must be self-motivated, display good initiative and be prepared for future challenges. Previous experience in AS1210, ASME, 3D parametric drafting, pressure vessels or electrical and controls will be highly regarded. Recent graduates are welcome to apply.
