Career Opportunity – Electrical Engineer
Powerpax is a Melbourne-based manufacturer of energy efficient chillers for commercial applications utilizing the smart oil-free compressor technology by Turbocor. At the cutting edge of innovation and rapidly growing, the company has created an opening for an Electrical Engineer to join our team to become an expert in this revolutionary technology.
The position involves the following activities:
• Design of power and control wiring of the skid-mounted electrical components
• Drafting using Autocad, Autocad Electrical, Vault, E-plan, Visio
• Design of switchboards, control panels and other enclosures to AS3000/2279/6100
• Generating and controlling Bills of Materials and costs
• Review and approval of drawings for Code compliance
• Quality control of Manufacturing
• Review and approval of drawings
• Development specifications, instructions and procedures
• Evaluation available components to meet specifications
To be considered for the position the candidate must satisfy the following criteria:
• Minimum 3 years experience in the electrical design field dealing with appliances and switchboards
• Knowledge of components structure within power boards and typical selection of materials
• Fluency in English (written and oral)
• Ability to work effectively in a multi-discipline environment
• Formal qualification in electrical engineering
• Experience in HVAC&R or process industries and knowledge of instrumentation and controls will be highly regarded.
